 I actually run the web shop on my own, with some support from family members. The growth in the number of orders in recent years has ensured that I am at my maximum capacity. In order to be of good service to you as a customer, I therefore have to be very efficient with my time.

You can help me to be as efficient as possible, in the following ways:


 - Part numbers

if you have a question about a part, always state the full part number. This ensures that I immediately and exactly know which part it concerns. The "exploded views" section in the web shop is a good place to find the part numbers. Once you have found the part, click on the part number to view the possible different versions and associated part numbers.


-  BMW Model & year

when you place an order, do not forget to indicate the BMW model and the year of manufacture. Although I can't intercept everything, I do try to be alert to whether all parts match the specified model.

 

 - Shipping method

when you place an order, don't forget to select the shipping method. Orders are regularly placed without payment for the shipping costs.

 

Adding parts to existing order

please check that you have not forgotten any parts before placing the order. We often receive an email asking if we can add an extra part to a just placed order. Of course this can always happen, but in that case please do not send an email but enter a new order. Then choose shipping method "pick up order at warehouse €0.00". If the additional order results in an increase in the shipping costs, I will inform you and send a PayPal payment request for the additional costs. If the 1st order has already been shipped, we will of course inform you. You then have the choice to cancel the 2nd order with a refund or to have it sent with a next order.

 

Questions before placing an order

if you have questions about a complete order that you want to place, it is best to first create an account and place the parts in your shopping cart. Do not place the order yet, but send me an email with the questions you have. I can download the contents of your shopping cart and use it to answer your questions. Once an order has been placed and paid for, it is much more cumbersome to make changes.


- Technical advise

I like to share my passion for and knowledge of vintage BMW motorcycles. However, many questions cannot be answered in a short email and therefore take up a lot of my time. The internet and platforms such as Facebook are an almost inexhaustible source of knowledge. Many enthusiasts will be happy to help you. For example, look at https://vintagebmw.org/.

You can also find (technical) information in the documentation section of our web shop. If you still can't find a solution, you can always contact me.

 

Photos

if you have a question about your motorcycle, parts of your motorcycle or parts that you have received from us, please send photos of the subject. In many cases this helps me a lot to understand the situation clearly.

 

Communication

I would like to ask you to contact me as much as possible by email (info@salisparts.com). If written communication also runs through other channels such as Messenger, WhatsApp and SMS, it is difficult for me to keep an overview of what has been discussed.

A personal note: please refrain from using mutliple !!!!!!! or ????? in your written communication. I am familair with the meaning of exclamation mark and question mark, so 1 is sufficient.

 

Delivery time of parts that are out of stock

the events on the world stage in the last 2 - 3 years have caused a disruption in raw material supplies worldwide. This has led to shortages and therefore long delivery times and significant price increases. For us, this means that more and more parts are (temporarily) out of stock. This leads to many questions about the expected delivery time of a part. Unfortunately, it appears that the delivery times specified by our suppliers are often not met. Some parts have been on order from our suppliers for more than 1 year. It is therefore often not possible for me to indicate an accurate delivery time.

If you want to order a part that is not in stock and a long delivery time is not a problem for you, please send an email with the part number. I will then place an order in the system for you and inform you as soon as the part is back in stock.

 

Shopping cart

In order not to overload the system, shopping carts that have not been used for a long time are automatically emptied after a certain time. However, weekly backups are made in Excel of the shopping carts. These are kept for 1 year. If your shopping cart is empty, I can put the contents back.

 

- Origin of the parts

Sometimes we get the question where a part is made (which country). This is an indirect question with the aim of assessing the quality of a part. Or occasionally an attempt to find out who the producer is in order to buy directly.

We do not answer these questions (in some cases we can't because we do not know ourselves if we purchase a part from a distributor). If you want to be convinced of the quality of a part, specify the relevant dimensions, tolerances, materials or surface treatment and we will indicate whether the part complies.
