Standard size of idle mix screw thread is M7 x 0.75
When the M7 screw thread in the carburetor body is damaged, it can be enlarged to M8 x 0.75.
Drill size is 8 - 0.75 = 7.25 mm. (we use 7.20 mm)
The M8 / M7 x 0.75 x 12.4 mm alu bronze bushing is then glued into the carburetor body
Drilling and cutting the M8 screw thread should be left to a specialist: the new screw thread must be perfectly aligned with the bore in the carburetor housing.
- Drill 16 mm deep (including drill tip)
- Use a tap for blind holes and apply tapping gel when tapping screw thread
- When installing the threaded bushing, make sure that the bore of the idle jet is not blocked by the bushing
