This switch mounting crown is slightly curved and follows the curve of the headlight to ensure a perfect fit.

Replacing the switch mounting crown:

the original crown is spot welded in the headlamp.

If you want to replace the old crown without damaging the headlamp paint, you will have to carefully grind the spot welds away from the inside.

Avoid excessive heat or put the headlamp on a wet towel to cool it.

Spot welding the new crown will damage the paint, but it is the strongest attachment method.

The other option is to use a high quality 2 component metal glue to fix the new crown, this will not damage the paint.

It is VERY important that the new crown sits very tight to the headlamp shell.

If this is not done correctly, the key will not reach far enough to press the contacts of the switch plate together.
